commercial flooring

Polyurethane flooring systems and epoxy concrete flooring systems are designed to be durable and resilient and are engineered for applications where thermal, chemical, or impact resistance is needed.  Polyurethane flooring systems offer low odor, low-VOC installations and are designed to be non-porous while closely matching the same co-efficient of expansion as concrete.  Epoxy concrete paint is considered practical and sturdy.  They can withstand the most punishing industrial and commercial conditions.

There are a few options when choosing your new flooring system:

Epoxy Floor Systems:

  • High Strength
  • Abrasion Resistance
  • Chemical Resistance
  • Low Odor

Acrylic Floor Systems:

  • Fast Cure Time (<1 hour)
  • Strength with Resilience
  • Low Glare Matte Satin Finish
  • Temperature Intensive (Cures at -20oF)

Urethane Floor Systems:

  • High Strength
  • Heat Resistance
  • Chemical Resistanc
  • Themal Shock

Hybrid Floor Systems:

  • High Strength
  • Elevated Moisture
  • Abrasion Resistance
  • Customizable

Primers, Sealers & Membranes

The best flooring system installations start with a coat of primer that seals and strengthens your floors, creating a uniform bonded surface for subsequent applications.  Using a low viscosity primer coat that soaks into the surface of the substrate handles more easily and aids in the prevention of out gassing.  It can occur with more viscous coatings.  After curing, an epoxy and methyl methacrylate (MMA) primer system forms a tough, smooth surface that stops concrete dusting, a common respiratory health and environmental concern where you find new or unprotected concrete flooring.

How to Choose the Proper Primer:

When considering what type of primer to use, you have to consider the bond strength, and compatibility with topcoats.  Simple concrete paint or epoxy paint may not properly bond to your slab.  The purpose of a primer is to provide a mechanical bond to the concrete substrate.  If the bond strength is greater than 400psi then the concrete will pull out when properly prepared and installed.

Joint / Crack Fillers and Pitching / Patching

Wherever secondary containment or the reduction of stress between the substrate and subsequent coatings or resurfacers is an issue, or if you need to fill holes, cracks, expansion joints or construction joints, there are many epoxy and urethane options to choose from.

Topcoats

Topcoats offer a complete selection of finishing solutions and give you an extra measure of control over the appearance and function of your flooring systems.  Together with the inherent chemical and abrasion resistant qualities of topcoats and matrix layers, a topcoat will deliver superior corrosion resistance and increase your floors longevity.  Topcoats are available in high gloss, satin, or flat urethane formulations or an attractive low glare satin finish acrylic coating that will brighten or soften the lighting in your facility

Wall Systems

Wall systems add a reliable, versatile, abrasion, and chemical resistant coating to the foundation of your facility.

Earthgroup Construction and Remodeling is proud to offer epoxy floor systems from

Florock:

Floropoxy 4700 Primer: A Durable, 100% solids, low viscosity, fast curing and resistant to oil, grease, gasoline, and strong detergents.  It is ideally used for priming or midcoat use in commercial, industrial, and institutional floors.  Another feature is the Self Leveling Epoxy system that restores worn, pitted or deteriorated concrete to a smooth, highly dense and lustrous surface.

Aqua Prime Clear and Pigmented Epoxy Primer: Aqua Prime is a two-component, water-tolerant epoxy system.  Ideal as the primer under Florock Florothane CR and Floropxy products.  Aqua Prime demonstrates excellent adhesion and impact resistance.  When used as a stand alone clear coating, Aqua Prime provides superior hardness, durability, and chemical resistance.  Used mainly in facilities that regularly encounter strong chemicals.

System 3700 Solvent Based Epoxy Primer: System 3700 is a durable, solvent based, low viscosity, penetrating fast curing primer.  Used for priming or midcoat in commercial, industrial, and institutional flooring.  Provides better adhesion over oil stains than solvent free primers.

FloroCryl Primer MMA Flooring Component: A fast curing primer used for adhesion to prepared concrete substrates.  FloroCryl Primer is a high strength, acrylic resin used for application in methyl methacrylate systems.  When used with the FloroCryl additive, it can be applied to well adhered tiles and metal surfaces. It also have the highest bond strength of all primers.

FloroCrete SL: FloroCrete SL is a Neutral self-leveling slurry applied urethane mortar system that is typically used in less strenuous environments.  It is specially formulated for areas where thermal shock, moderate impact, and chemical resistance are needed.  It can be installed at 1/8" thickness with aggregate or flack broadcast.  FloroCrete SL is available with FloroSeptic Anti-Microbial additive.  Ideally used for Commercial, Industrial and Institutional flooring applications.  FloroCrete SL meets the USDA requirements for incidental food contact.

FloroWear: FloroWear provides an excellent protective coating for high traffic floors because of its high chemical and wear resistant properties.  It can be installed over existing coatings that are well bonded and properly prepared.  It provides 50% greater wear resistance than conventional urethanes.  The Florock High Traffic Urethane System maintains a low sheen appearance over time.  It makes floors easier to clean and prevents concrete dusting.

FloroShop: FloroShop is an excellent slip resistant shop floor system.  It is easy to clean and maintain, prevents concrete dusting, and retains its color and durability over time.  IT is a highly economical shop floor system that is impact resistant and is a dense, non-porous surface that resists penetration

FloroBuild: FloroBuild is used when resurfacing or leveling concrete.  It economically adds performance and durability to concrete floors.  It provides a sanitary, skid resistant surface that easily tolerates harsh environments like factorys.
